Description

These adorable carrot chocolate covered strawberries are a delightful and festive treat perfect for springtime, Easter, or a fun party snack. Fresh strawberries are dipped in vibrant orange chocolate and decorated with green chocolate to resemble miniature carrots, making them as cute as they are delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. fresh strawberries, rinsed and dried
  • 1 (12 oz.) bag of orange chocolate melts (Wilton or preferred brand)
  • Wax paper
  • Candy squeeze tube or a zip-tight bag with a small snip in the corner (for piping)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Strawberries: Gently rinse and dry the strawberries thoroughly using a paper towel to ensure no moisture remains, which helps the chocolate adhere better and prevents it from seizing.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the orange chocolate melts in a microwave-safe bowl and melt them according to the package instructions, typically heating in 20-30 second intervals and stirring in between until smooth and creamy.
  3. Dip the Strawberries: Hold each strawberry by the green leaves and dip it fully into the melted orange chocolate. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off before placing the strawberries onto wax paper to set.
  4. Shape the Carrot: Once the orange chocolate has set slightly but is not fully hardened, use a candy squeeze tube or a zip-top bag with a small cut corner to pipe green chocolate designs on top of the strawberries to mimic carrot tops.
  5. Let Them Set: Allow the decorated strawberries to harden completely at room temperature or place them in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes to speed up the setting process.

Notes

  • Ensure strawberries are fully dry before dipping to prevent chocolate clumping.
  • If you don’t have orange melts, you can use white chocolate tinted with orange food coloring.
  • Use parchment or wax paper to prevent sticking while the chocolate sets.
  • Store the finished strawberries in the refrigerator and consume within 2 days for best freshness.
  • To make green carrot tops, melt green chocolate melts or use green colored white chocolate.
