Ingredients
Scale
Chicken and Bacon Mixture
- 1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into very thin strips
- 1/3 cup chopped bacon
- 1-2 teaspoons seasoning salt (or any seasoning blend you prefer)
- 1/2 cup crispy fried onions (more or less to taste)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (more or less to taste)
Wrap Assembly
- Butter or iceberg lettuce leaves
- 8 to 10 8-inch flour tortillas, warmed
- 1 avocado, sliced
- 1/2 cup ranch salad dressing (or more to taste)
Instructions
- Cook Bacon and Chicken: In a large non-stick skillet, ensuring the chicken strips are not crowded, cook the bacon and chicken over medium to medium-high heat. Stir occasionally until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, and the bacon is crisp. The chicken juices should run clear indicating it’s fully cooked.
- Finish with Onions and Cheese: Reduce the heat to low and add the crispy fried onions and shredded cheddar cheese to the skillet. Stir gently and cook until the cheese has melted completely into the mixture, enhancing the flavor and texture.
- Assemble and Serve: Lay butter or iceberg lettuce leaves on each warmed tortilla. Spoon an ample amount of the chicken and bacon mixture over the lettuce. Top with sliced avocado and drizzle with ranch dressing. Roll the tortillas tightly to form wraps and serve immediately for optimal freshness and taste.
Notes
- For the best texture, slice the chicken into very thin strips so it cooks quickly and evenly.
- You can use any seasoning blend that you prefer in place of seasoning salt to customize the flavor.
- Adjust the amount of crispy fried onions and cheddar cheese to your taste preference or dietary needs.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet when cooking the chicken and bacon to ensure even cooking and a nice golden color.
- Warm the tortillas briefly before assembling to make them more pliable and easier to roll.
