Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Toppings
- 1 lb ground beef
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 1 cup shredded cheddar
- 1/4 cup diced red onion
- 1/2 cup dill pickle slices, patted dry
- Optional: cooked bacon crumbles
Optional Special Sauce Drizzle
- 1/4 cup mayo
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
- 1 teaspoon pickle juice
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to preheat as well for even and crispy baking.
- Cook the Beef. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until fully cooked. Make sure to break the meat into small crumble pieces for even topping. Drain any excess grease and set aside.
- Shape Dough. Roll out the pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza peel into a 12 to 14-inch circle. Brush the surface lightly with olive oil to create a crisp, golden crust.
- Prepare Sauce. Mix together ketchup and yellow mustard in a small bowl to create a tangy base sauce. Spread a thin, even layer of this sauce over the pizza crust, similar to how you would spread traditional pizza sauce.
- Add Toppings. First sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce. Then distribute the cooked ground beef, followed by the shredded cheddar cheese, diced red onion, and optional bacon crumbles evenly across the pizza.
- Bake the Pizza. Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Add Pickles and Serve. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and immediately scatter the dill pickle slices on top to keep them crisp. Slice the pizza and serve hot.
- Optional Special Sauce Drizzle. For an extra layer of flavor, mix mayo, ketchup, yellow mustard, and pickle juice together to make a creamy special sauce. Drizzle over sliced pizza before serving if desired.
Notes
- Drain the browned beef well to prevent a greasy pizza.
- Adding the pickle slices after baking keeps them fresh and crisp.
- Use a pizza stone if available for a crispier crust.
- Optional bacon crumbles add smoky flavor.
- Customize the special sauce ratio to taste if using.
