Ingredients

Beef Mixture
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Cucumber Yogurt Sauce
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup cucumber, finely grated and squeezed dry
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt, to taste
Wrap Assembly
- 4 large flatbreads or wraps
- Sliced tomatoes
- Shredded lettuce
- Sliced red onion
- Crumbled feta cheese
Instructions
- Sauté Onions: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent, about 3–4 minutes.
- Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Cook Beef and Spices: Add the ground beef to the skillet along with dried oregano, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Break up the meat with a spatula and cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and fully cooked through.
- Remove from Heat: Once the beef is cooked, remove the skillet from heat and set aside.
- Make Cucumber Yogurt Sauce: In a bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, finely grated and squeezed cucumber, lemon juice, olive oil, minced garlic, and salt. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well blended.
- Chill Sauce: Refrigerate the cucumber yogurt sauce until ready to use to allow flavors to meld and keep it cool.
- Warm Flatbreads: Warm the flatbreads or wraps according to package instructions to make them pliable for wrapping.
- Assemble Wraps: Place a portion of the cooked beef in the center of each warm flatbread. Top with a generous spoonful of cucumber yogurt sauce and add sliced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, sliced red onion, and crumbled feta cheese as desired.
- Serve: Roll up each flatbread tightly into a wrap and serve immediately for best taste and texture.
Notes
- To ensure the cucumber yogurt sauce is not watery, be sure to squeeze out excess moisture from the grated cucumber.
- Feel free to swap ground beef for ground lamb or turkey for different flavor profiles.
- Flatbreads can be warmed in a skillet, oven, or microwave depending on preference.
- Additional toppings like olives or fresh herbs (mint, parsley) can be added for extra Greek flair.
- Wraps are best eaten fresh but can be stored separately and assembled just before serving.
