Description
A simple and delicious recipe for grilled peaches served with vanilla ice cream. Perfectly caramelized peaches are grilled to bring out their natural sweetness and finished with a sprinkle of brown sugar and a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
Fruit
- 4 ripe peaches, halved and pitted
Other Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil or oil spray
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Vanilla ice cream, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Begin by preheating your grill or grill pan to medium heat to ensure it is hot enough so the peaches will not stick to the grates.
- Prepare the Peaches: Brush the cut sides of the peach halves with olive oil or spritz lightly with an oil spray to prevent sticking and help caramelize the fruit.
- Grill the Peaches: Place the peach halves cut side down on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes until grill marks appear. Flip them and grill the other side for an additional 3 minutes until the peaches are tender and caramelized.
- Serve and Garnish: Remove the grilled peaches carefully and place them cut side up on a serving plate. Sprinkle brown sugar over each half while still warm to let it melt slightly, then top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a delicious dessert.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm peaches for best grilling results.
- Olive oil can be replaced with a neutral oil if preferred.
- Ensure the grill is sufficiently preheated to avoid sticking.
- Optional: add a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg along with brown sugar for extra flavor.
- Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
