Description

These Homemade Ginger Shots are a refreshing and invigorating health tonic made from fresh ginger, turmeric, lemon juice, and coconut water. Sweetened lightly with honey or maple syrup and enhanced with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper, these shots provide a potent blend of flavor and wellness benefits, perfect for a quick morning boost or anytime immune support.

Ingredients

Scale

Ginger Shot Ingredients

  • 4 oz (110g) fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric or 1 oz fresh turmeric
  • 2 medium lemons, juiced (55g juice)
  • 1 ½ cups (12 oz or 345g) coconut water
  • 1 tbsp (20g) honey or maple syrup (add more as needed)
  • 1/4 tsp celtic sea salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Prep the ginger and lemon. Thoroughly wash the fresh ginger; peeling is optional since the mixture will be strained later. Juice the lemons to get about 55 grams of fresh lemon juice.
  2. Combine ingredients in blender. Add the ginger, turmeric (ground or fresh), lemon juice, coconut water, honey or maple syrup, sea salt, and black pepper to a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend the mixture. Start blending on low speed to break down the ingredients, then gradually ramp up to medium-high speed. Continue blending for a total of 2 minutes until smooth.
  4. Strain the mixture. Place a nut milk bag or fine mesh sieve over a bowl or wide-mouth jar. Pour the blended mixture through to strain out solids, producing a smooth juice.
  5. Store and serve. Transfer the strained ginger shots into a glass jar. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Serve in 2 oz servings for a potent health boost.

Notes

  • Peeling the ginger is optional as the contents are strained.
  • Adjust honey or maple syrup to taste for sweetness.
  • Use fresh turmeric if available for a more vibrant flavor.
  • Consume within one week and keep refrigerated for maximum freshness.
  • 2 oz is the recommended serving size per shot.
