Description

These Chocolate Covered Strawberry Frozen Yogurt Bites are a delightful and refreshing treat perfect for warm days. Fresh diced strawberries are mixed with creamy strawberry Greek yogurt, frozen into bite-sized clusters, and then coated in rich dark chocolate. A sprinkle of sea salt adds a subtle contrast to the sweetness, making these bites an irresistible snack or dessert that requires minimal ingredients and preparation time.

Ingredients

Scale

Frozen Yogurt Bites

  • 2 cups fresh diced strawberries
  • 1 cup strawberry Greek yogurt

Chocolate Coating

  • 12 ounces dark chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
  • Sea salt (optional, for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Frozen Yogurt Bites: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix the fresh diced strawberries and strawberry Greek yogurt thoroughly to create a creamy mixture. Using a spoon, drop small clusters of this mixture evenly spaced onto the prepared baking sheet.
  2. Freeze Yogurt Bites: Place the baking sheet in the freezer and allow the yogurt clusters to freeze solid, which should take about 30 minutes.
  3. Coat with Chocolate: Melt the dark chocolate chips in the microwave in short intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. If desired, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to help thin and smooth the chocolate. Dip each frozen yogurt bite into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated, and return to the parchment-lined baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over each bite while the chocolate is still wet.
  4. Set and Enjoy: Allow the chocolate coating to harden for a few minutes at room temperature or place the baking sheet back in the freezer briefly. Once set, the bites are ready to be enjoyed as a refreshing and indulgent snack or dessert.

Notes

  • Use fresh, ripe strawberries for the best flavor and texture.
  • The coconut oil is optional but helps achieve a smoother chocolate coating.
  • You can substitute strawberry Greek yogurt with any flavored Greek yogurt of your choice.
  • Store leftover bites in an airtight container in the freezer to keep them fresh.
  • Adjust the size of the bites according to your preference, but smaller bites freeze more evenly and quickly.
